WSOP Satellite
One of my local casinos has been holding WSOP Satellites. They have weekly Wednesday tournament's, and a Sunday tournament once per month.
Along with the cash payout, each player is given points. Top 45 point holders, plus those who place 1st in each of the Sunday tournament's go on to the final tournament, winner of that getting a trip to the WSOP.
I wouldn't say I have done extremely well, but I have been slowly advancing. Actually making it to the final table during one of the Wednesday tourney, just out of the money, but into the points.
Well, in today's Sunday tourney, all my hard work has finally paid off...
My first Real World Tourney Win! and a shot at going to the WSOP!

Interesting Auction on E-Bay
There is a very interesting gambling related auction going on E-Bay at the moment.
It is apparently the Pinky Ring and Money clip of reputed Texas Drug Lord Jamiel "Jimmy" Chagra, picked up at Police Auction after his assets were seized.
Although the items themselves are rather interesting, the back story is even more interesting.
Allegedly, Chagra hired hit man Charles Harrelson (Woody Harrelson of Cheers and Natural Born Killers Fame father) to assassinate Judge John Wood Jr., the judge presiding over his case who was known to hand out the maximum sentence allowed by law on drug related charges.
It is also rumored that Charles Harrelson was also one of the 'hobos' detained after President John F. Kennedy's assassination in Texas.
Charles Harrelson is still serving a life sentence, after his last appeal in 1977 was rejected.
Jamiel Chagra was released on parole in December of 2003.
The story the Seller gives regarding Charga's connections to some very influential Las Vegas personalities, including the current mayor of Las Vegas, and the owner of Binions makes for a very interesting read.
